The C.D.P.C. Code of Conduct

As a club, Cranbourne Dandenong Pistol Club Inc. and all our members
subscribe to and are bound by this Code of Conduct. It sets out the
minimum standards expected of every member whenever you are competing,
practising, training, being a spectator or taking part in club-sanctioned
activities.

Standards of behaviour

All members and participants must:

  • Respect the rights and worth of every person, regardless of their age, race, gender, ability, cultural background, sexuality or religion.
  • Act with integrity and objectivity, and accept responsibility for their own decisions and actions.
  • Not tolerate abusive, bullying, threatening or aggressive behaviour from anyone.
  • Show respect and courtesy to all involved with the club – including avoiding back-chatting about decisions – and raise issues directly with the committee.
  • Ensure their decisions and actions contribute to a harassment-free environment.
  • Ensure their decisions and actions contribute to a safe environment.
  • Display appropriate and responsible behaviour in all interactions.
  • Not say or do anything that will bring the club into disrepute, or cause the club to contravene any state law or local council regulation.
  • Act within the rules and spirit of the shooting sport.
  • Participate for their own enjoyment and benefit and promote fair play over winning.
  • Compete by the rules and show respect for Range Officers and other members.
  • Encourage and support opportunities for people to learn appropriate behaviours and skills.
  • Support opportunities for participation in all aspects of the shooting sport.
  • Respect and abide by decisions of the Range Officers and Club Trainers.
  • Respect and abide by decisions of the committee and, in the event of a disagreement or dispute, raise the matter in an appropriate forum and situation.
  • Display responsible behaviour in relation to alcohol and other drugs.

Disciplinary action

Failure to follow the C.D.P.C. Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary
action by the club.

Aggressive behaviour

Aggressive behaviour has no place at C.D.P.C. This behaviour may be actual
or implied and will be treated seriously and acted upon by the committee.
